Brickyard Farm

TRAINING

An essential part of the Brickyard program is daily handling and training from birth through the age of going under saddle.  Kerry McGuigan is an integral part of the training at Brickyard Farm.  Kerry has been riding, training, and showing young hunter/jumpers for the past 27 years.  Kerry uses quiet, proven training methods to bring each horse along at their own pace resulting in very calm, confident, and competitive show prospects.

Kerry’s own education had come from training with some of the country’s top hunter/jumper trainers such as Sandy Ferrel, Louis Serio, and Greg Best. In addition, she has trained under Mary Anne Tauskey (Olympic 3 day team gold medalist 76), Lisa Lewis Greene (USDF bronze and silver medalist Dressage).  Kerry has shown competitively from baby green hunters through the open Adequan Hunters 3'3", Jumpers from Level 1's through level 4's.  She has shown in Ocala, Vermont, Saugerties, NY, Culpeper, VA, Devon, as well as locally in NJ and PA.

Kerry has successfully trained students competing in hunters and jumpers, including many championships in: schooling jumpers (level 1 and 2), childrens hunters, junior hunters, childrens eq, low adult hunters,  and open Adequan hunters including students qualifying for zone finals and Marshall and Sterling league finals.
